Gulliver's Travels, originally Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships is a 1726 prose satire by the Anglo-Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift, satirising both human nature and the "travellers' tales" literary subgenre. It is Swift's best-known full-length work and a classic of English literature. Review of the book

Gulliver's Travels is a satirical novel that explores the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver, a ship's surgeon who embarks on extraordinary journeys to bizarre lands. Each of his travels highlights the absurdities of human nature and society. In Lilliput, he encounters tiny people with petty conflicts, while in Brobdingnag, he is dwarfed by giants, forcing him to reflect on humanity's flaws. Swift uses these fantastical settings to critique politics, religion, and human vanity. The novel combines adventure with sharp social commentary, making it both entertaining and thought-provoking. Swift's wit and cleverness make it a classic of English literature.
